Day 469

Well, it has been approximately three weeks since my last post. Sometimes I feel that time really flies very fast. Actually, I was busy in performing my duties towards my professional life so I wasn’t having much time and attention towards the writing something for the blog. Actually, blog writing is a hobby for me. Like every office goer, even I have to dedicate more time to office than the required time slot. Actually, I’m not complaining about it. I think it has become a fact with everyone who has to spend a lot of time in office. The reason may vary but the end result is the same. Don’t worry. I’m not going to write any post regarding the late working hour or so. That’s not in my mind. Why should I write about something which has become an ugly reality and most occurring thing in the life? The simple reason behind this is that we need to earn to sustain our life and family. That’s why this has become the truth of the life.

Anyway, today I’m going to write something about the current relation between India and its two neighbouring countries. Yes, you got it right. Two mutually friendly nations which have always been a headache for India. China and Pakistan have already illegally occupied Kashmir and have claiming our land as their own. But now the situation has changed. In 2017, we have seen the Doklam standoff with China. Although, Doklam is a part of Bhutan and India doesn’t raise any issue on Doklam and consider it as Bhutan’s area. But when Chinese army started constructing a road in Doklam area which shares its border with Bhutan, China and Sikkim state of India, then Bhutan government asked India’s help to resist the Chinese intrusion. According to the New Friendship Treaty, Bhutan asked India’s help and Indian government deployed Indian Army in the region. It resulted in stopping of the road construction by the Chinese army but it lead to the diplomatic war between India and China.

Now, in 2020, China started its notorious activities in Ladakh border area also. Actually, after the revocation of special state status of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 has made Chinese government worried a bit. About one-third portion of the Aksai Chin has been illegally occupied by the Chinese government and it shares the border with Gilgit Baluchistan which comes under Pakistan occupied Kashmir. With the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, both China and Pakistan have become restless. That’s why China raised its concern about the road construction in the Indian side in May 2020.

We all are aware about whatever happened on the 15/16 May 2020 night. Unfortunately, our 20 soldiers were lost that night. It was due to betrayal by the Chinese army, who first said that they will engage in face to face peaceful talk but later on they started hitting Indian soldiers with sticks. In retaliation, Indian soldiers had to self-defend themselves. Suddenly more Chinese soldiers came from nearby area. In glaciers it’s common to have ice sledding due to heavy weight. I don’t care about the loss of 43 Chinese soldiers although I think it’s a false figure given by the Chinese government to hide the true number of troops being of Chinese army. I think more than 43 Chinese soldiers were killed. But that’s not my concern.

Anyway, this incidence had fuelled the tension between India and China. Now again, diplomatic war has started. Now both sides are horn locked in Ladakh issue. Although many rounds of talks had been conducted by the both sides at different levels, but none of them have come with any satisfactory solution. This is due to the mutual distrust. I think that China has lost its credibility and it would be a wrong move to trust China again. Definitely, it would stab at India’s back if there will be a hug for friendship between India and China.
