Day 120

Today morning, I read a news article. Actually it was an interview of an Indian student who is studying in Australia. Again he was beaten up for money. What is this? The Australian Prime Minister has assured the Indian Government that there will be no more attacks on Indian students. But still the attacks are going on. The recent attack was on Sunny. He was brutally beaten up and his finger was smashed at the door of his car and he was constantly punched at his face and stomach. Now this is something which is really unthinkable in a civilised society. In my view, its better that students from India don’t go to Australia. There is no need to get a foreign degree after putting your life in danger. It’s not only the students, who are in danger, but it’s their parents also living in fear. So what is the use of going to any foreign country where you are living constantly in fear? And instead of protecting the Indian students, the Australian police are protecting the Australian people. The use of power to suppress the protest march on Indian students has proved this. Its quiet clear that the Australian police are not helping and protecting the Indian students. So, I would like to request to all those Indian students in Australia to come back to India. It’s really sad to see the news of brutal beatings of Indian students in Australia. I think it’s really foolishness to go there to study. And what’s the use of getting the foreign degree when you can study the same subject in India also? Is there someone who can tell me this?

Day 119

The attacks on the Indians in Australia are increasing daily. All the newspaper and news channels are showing the photos and footages of the victim Indians. On Sunday, when the Indian students were having protest march in Australia then the Australian police has brutally beaten them. One Indian student was continuously punched on his head by an Australian police officer. That student felt unconscious due to the beating. Capsicum sprays were used on the Indian students. And this was not enough then they have arrested 18 demonstrators in charge of “breach of peace”. Now what kind of double standard is this? The Australian Prime Minister is assuring that the security will be provided to the Indian students and the Australian police are doing the inhuman act to the Indian students. More and more people of Indian origins are now been attacked these days. Whether it’s a taxi driver or a student. There is a sense of insecurity amongst those who are staying there. And the parents of all those students are now restless in India. Now I don’t think that any student from India will think to go to Australia for studies. And those who have come back from Australia are telling their stories like how they have been treated there. Many of the students avoided to go to the police station to lodge any complaint after they were abused. And those who went the Australian police have asked for the evidences of abuses? Now this is something unthinkable. A foreigner in a country is been abused or sometime is been beaten up and instead of giving safety to them the police is asking for the evidences for the things which have taken place verbally. How can a person bring evidence for the abuses he or she has suffered? And when the Australian Prime Minister gave assurance to the Indian Prime Minister that there will be no more attacks on Indians and they will get police protection then why the Australian police used force so brutally? And the increasing attacks are telling something else to the entire world. In my view, all the Indians settled in Australia should come back to their home.
