The festive season is back again. Today the
pious festival of Dusshara or Durga Puja or Navratri, whatever you want to
call, has commenced. The aroma in the atmosphere is making me energetic. In spite
of cold and cough, I’m feeling excited. Now the nine days will pass very
smoothly in worshiping the Goddess Durga and her various forms. Since childhood,
we are being taught that Durga Puja or Dusshara symbolises the victory of truth
on evil.
But I have few questions in my mind. Have we
killed the devil inside us? Still we are bounded my so many evils that we don't
think that we are doing anything wrong. Once I read a news article that stated
that who says that the milk has become costlier? Many people are going to
temples and are pouring milk on the God Shiva’s idol. People are buying milk at
any cost in the name of religious rituals. I’m not against the religion. But I’m
saying that why can’t we give the milk to the poor beggars who are sitting
outside the temple in all weathers. Now the so call Babas and Maatas have make
religion as their business. For everything the devotees has to pay huge amounts
in the ashrams of these Babas and Maatas.
In which Holy Scriptures it’s written that
God will bless those who will waste money and resources like this and leave
fellow humans starving? Isn’t it written in the Holy Scriptures that all living
beings are having God in it? Then why are we differentiating so much amongst ourselves?
Still we have many evils inside us. Let’s pray to Goddess Durga to give us the
strength to kill the evils inside us.
